Qualification : Four Year Degree in Marine-Engineering (B.E. in Marine-Engineering /B.Tech. in Marine-Engineering /B.Sc. in Marine Engineering) from Directorate General of Shipping (DG), OR AICTE Approved Engineering College
Note : Only fresh pass out candidates can apply. Lateral entry Candidates only with Diploma in Marine-Engineering and then completing BE/B.Tech/BS in Marine-Engineering are eligible for this training
Age Limit : Maximum 28 years as on 01.04.2014. Candidate must born on or after 02.04.1986. For SC/ST candidate, on or after 02.04.1981
Stipend : Rs.15000 /-
Duration Of Training, Appointment And Stipend : The shipboard training is only for six months from the date of joining on any of The Shipping Corporation of India’s Own/Manned/Managed/Main fleet/OSV vessels as per the vacancy available
Application Fee : Rs.1000/- for General (UR) and OBC candidate’s and Rs.500/- for SC & ST candidate’s, excluding NEFT bank charges. Medical Standard And Eye Sight : Candidate must have good health and be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000/MLC 2006 applicable to sea farers. Standard as mentioned below 1. Height: Minimum 157 cms. Reduction in height for the candidates from hilly and tribal areas will be in accordance with Govt. guidelines. 2. Weight: Proportionate to height and age. 3. Hearing: Normal. 4. Visual Standard: 6/6 (Normal Eye) and 6/9, 6/12 (With Spectacles). Defective colour vision (Colour Blindness) NOT accepted
